PAQ - The Boys taking over the YouTube fashion scene

Updated: Sep 15, 2018

PAQ is a collective of four young friends, all making a name for themselves within the fashion industry. They're innovative and expressive of their identity and creativity.

The foursome consists of shakkadabadman (Shaq), his one liner’s leave you in stiches of laughter and his artistic essence really allows me to relate to him. Also, Shaquille allows us to see representation of Caribbean boys who aren't afraid to express themselves and move away from the hyper-masculine stereotype the media portrays of black men, which is extremely important for a progression.

Second member Elias, also known as astroboy loves to be out of this world, - the sky’s the limit-, he loves to delve into high fashion. He's constantly integrating the couture fits only some of us would dream of buying into some of his most iconic looks. Whilst doing so the foursome also keep it relatable, many of their episodes involve them styling outfits using thrifted finds, which means many of us who like to shop on a budget won’t feel left behind.

Thirdly, we have Danny our favourite northern lad. He doesn't fail to bring us the corny jokes every episode, and will forever be Fred Perry's #1 sponsor.

Finally, we have Dexter, the happiest Goth you'll ever meet, he sometimes challenges himself to come out of his comfort zone of all black and apply a pop of colour and when he does he succeeds.

Paq have had an incredible start they’ve created a large following for themselves and managed to rake in millions of YouTube views. This show is revolutionary as it removes the stigma that men can’t be a part of fashion, the show brings a wider purpose, it enables men and women to feel more comfortable to delve into what they call fashion. It reassures people that they can dress the way they want without the fear of being judged. Not only has men's fashion and streetwear become a big part of youth culture but it continues to inspire many other industries and is only going to become more trailblazing.

Each episode consists of the boys taking on a challenge, where their individual work is judged at the end. Through the shows positive track record they have managed to network with big names in the fashion industry, from having guests including Billie Eilish, Luka Sabbat, DJ Julie Adenuga, R&B singer Mabel, and in one instance, Shaq’s mum, on the show. Each episode brings you something new, meaning sadly you’ll have to wait for the week to go by for the next episode to be released on a Thursday. Bummer I know, but we must admit the consistency is great. If I’ve managed to sell the show and the boys well enough, then I expect those who have not come across the foursome prior to reading this will be wanting to check them out. Below I have left you a ranking of my favourite episodes to watch, or you can binge watch each episode from start to finish and let me know which episodes you liked best.
